How to save books to disk by Author - Title? (Non Calibre folders)

Hi,

It is the best app... I'm very grateful for the makers. Thanks.

While everything is pretty much perfect, I'm having problem with saving files to disk. My books (before Calibre) always been saved by "Author - Title" which I got used to it... I only use Calibre to edit tags, covers, etc... So when I save a book to a non Calibre folder, in the file name, Calibre only saves it starting with the book title and then the author :-(

In the "Saving books to disk" settings I couldn't find any options. Tried the template there, but no effect on the saved files.

To clarify it, I don't want to change how Calibre file/folder structure is, how the app organizes the books, because I never actually keep them there. After I edited/fixed the files, I use the "Save to disk in a single directory" command, and then delete the books from Calibre.
But I'd like to get my file names in "Author - Title" order. Is that possible somehow?

Thanks

Edit: Sorry, now it is working... I'm not sure what happened, but now that template works. The only thing I need to find out how to put "A" or "The" to the front of a title. I really dislike the "Wheel of Time, The" format.

Thanks, I'll check it tonight.

This would have helped me but Calibre is refusing to save my converted CBZ to pdf with the correct name: always {series} {author}, even if I changed settings under "save to disk", and restarted Calibre.

I'm desperate to have {series} - {series_index} - {title}

thank you for your appreciated help

Hi, are you sure you have the Series field as well as series number set for that title?

Does your CBZ viewer use file name or Metadata for its index?
