Forced To Use Thumbnails?

I always liked how the Sony PRS-600 didn't have book thumbnails.

The reason is, most of my books come from Gutenberg.org where thumbnails aren't usually provided.

In the PRS-600 Collection view, I liked being able to read through the titles of MANY books on ONE page, because I was just reading text in rows, not recognizing thumbnails.

So I prefer to search for my books via their title, not their thumbnail.

Does the PRS-650 allow switching from thumbnails to text titles?

Because I think having blank---or tacky Calibre-generated---thumbnails will make finding a book harder.

Yes you can either have them as thumbnail or list.
You have three options while in the books section. either as thumbnail, just title , or list.
List includes date that it was added and only title is just as it says, only the title.

Alright!

That was the only remaining worry I had about the PRS-650!

Thank you for help, dax123.

====

One other question, would you agree that the PRS-650 has NO glare, or simply LESS glare?

Because "no glare," is often more marketing than reality.

If there is truly no glare though, that by itself would be a great reason to upgrade, since glare often makes reading hard on my PRS-600.

I don't think there exist one device with completely no glare. But it's definitly got less glare then the 600. Also the screen is way more clear then the 600. I also own a 600 and I was suprised at how unclear and blurry my 600 screen is compared to the 650.
That was one of the big reasons in fact to upgrade from the 600 because I already saw on some youtube videos that this screen was much more clear and had more contrast.

I would suggest you look up some youtube videos to make up your mind. That's what I always do when I am considering a device and want to know more about it.

Here's a video that has the 650 and 600 next to eachother. Commentary is in German though sorry.

Thanks for the video comparison, I definitely notice that the PRS 650's screen is clearer.

In the video, the amount of light reflecting off the screens seems similar, but I've already seen photo confirming the reduce glare and your confirmation is another piece of evidence.

I often use YouTube for video reviews, but I hadn't thought to check other languages; so thanks again.
