Tolino uses smartLight for their color changing models. Nook calls the feature NightMode, which I think is the simplest and clearest way to say it. Pocketbook calls it SMARTlight, which is the same as Tolino, except for the capitalization of different letters. |

I guess the first color changing eReader that I saw was the Nook Glowlight 3 and they called the feature "NightMode," so it stuck. But I guess reversed text is often used for night reading also. (I, personally, consider reversed text a completely different feature.) |

All too often when he used the page turn buttons, his finger was too high or low on the buttons and the page flipped in the wrong direction. The final straw for him was the Android app support. The Inkbook store had a very poor selection of apps and attempting to sideload APKs ran into issues including lack of support for the old Android version (4.2 something AFAIR). The builtin in reading app did make him feel happy about his Kobo and Kindle devices since they did not make a habit of crashing multiple times in a book. On the positive side, it did have an external uSD card slot to expand it's internal 4GB storage and a 2000mAH battery. On the negative side, he attempted to use Amazon's Kindle app and found installing the Kindle app from the Inkbook app store was easy enough but it was an exercise in frustration once installed. It took multiple tries just to sign in and he never did manage to read a book with it. Last edited by DNSB; 12-27-2018 at 04:26 PM. |
