My problem with ComfortLight is that Kobo calls the light on the Aura 2 a ComfortLight as well. It becomes clearer when you realize the color changing feature is called ComfortLight PRO.

Tolino uses smartLight for their color changing models.

Nook calls the feature NightMode, which I think is the simplest and clearest way to say it.

Pocketbook calls it SMARTlight, which is the same as Tolino, except for the capitalization of different letters.

I was asking about the ComfortLight, not the ComfortLight Pro.

If you are talking about the ComfortLight Pro, there is also the Forma and Aura One.

I'm guessing not. The difference, now that they have the ComfortLight PRO, is that they seem to emphasize "ComfortLight" a lot more, so (at first) I kept thinking models that were simply front-lit, were also color changing because of the use of "ComfortLight." I realize I was wrong about this, it's just how I saw it at first.

I guess the first color changing eReader that I saw was the Nook Glowlight 3 and they called the feature "NightMode," so it stuck. But I guess reversed text is often used for night reading also. (I, personally, consider reversed text a completely different feature.)

I always thought 'Comfort Light' sounded stupid. Just a little too twee for my taste. Shows what I know.

I had always thought that comfort lights were the red ones used by certain establishments advertising comforts within.

I do remember years ago reading an article that ebooks were a boon to romance books of all types, since others couldn't easily see the covers of the books being read.

One of my co-workers picked one up as a backup for his Kobo Clara HD and Kindle Paperwhite but he stopped trying to use it after a couple of weeks. The firmware was flakey, the 600x800 167 PPI screen was very noticeably poorer than the Clara HD's 1072x1448 300 PPI screen though visually little different from the Paperwhite's 758x1024 screen. One of the reasons for his purchase was that he was interested in the mobi support as backup for his Paperwhite. Sadly, it turned out to little better than Kobo's mobi support useful only for older non-DRMed ebooks.

All too often when he used the page turn buttons, his finger was too high or low on the buttons and the page flipped in the wrong direction. The final straw for him was the Android app support. The Inkbook store had a very poor selection of apps and attempting to sideload APKs ran into issues including lack of support for the old Android version (4.2 something AFAIR). The builtin in reading app did make him feel happy about his Kobo and Kindle devices since they did not make a habit of crashing multiple times in a book.

On the positive side, it did have an external uSD card slot to expand it's internal 4GB storage and a 2000mAH battery. On the negative side, he attempted to use Amazon's Kindle app and found installing the Kindle app from the Inkbook app store was easy enough but it was an exercise in frustration once installed. It took multiple tries just to sign in and he never did manage to read a book with it.
