How to back up preferences and custom recipes?

I've been using Calibre primarily for format conversion and RSS downloading. I need to do a backup of the preferences and custom recipes I made. However I can't find the relevant files in the Calibre folders where they are stored. I've searched under "program files" and "appdata", but didn't have much luck.

Could anyone give me some pointers where I should look and which files I should save, in case when I need to restore them? Thanks.

The Calibre preferences are stored under your profile. On Windows 7 this would be under \users\username\appdata\roaming\calibre. I believe that custom recipies are stored in the metadata.db file.

You can also find the calibre preference files by going to Preferences->advanced within calibre itself.
