version 3.15.0: unable to 'restore' database

After update to Calibre 3.15.0: can't read or restore database.
My solution: Fallback to Calibe 3.14.0 - works fine without any adaptations!
Seems to be a problem coming with version 3.15.0!?

I'm using Windows 10.

There are no changes to database access in 3.15. Most probably your antivirus has decided it does not like calibre 3.15 and is blocking it.

Same issue with me. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling V3.15.0 three times corrupt database. Went back to V3.14.0 now works again. Whitelisted Calibre in my antivirus so can't be that.

Here's the history of changes to the database code in calibre, the last change was on 29 Nov 2017 over a month before even calibre 3.14, let alone 3.15 https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...src/calibre/db

Try disabling your antivirus instead of adding an exclusion, exclusions are tricky to get right.

That worked thanks! Strange why my antivirus went weird on this version as I've been using this wonderful program for many years now and the first time this has come up.
