Mobipocket Reader Pro 5.1 now FREE

According to this announcement over at the Mobipocket forums, the "professional" version of Mobipocket Reader is now available for free (previously $19.95). Unlike the standard version, pro includes connectivity support for eNews, highlighting, page autoscroll, free drawing, annotations, custom linking, and more. In addition, the latest version 5.1 adds support for importing Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, text and HTML documents, and support to synchronize bookmarks, annotations, reading lists, and book metadata between devices.

You can download Mobipocket Reader Pro 5.1 from here.

I can confirm that the news is true. I just downloaded MobiPocket Reader Pro 5.1 and it installed seamlessly over my previous 5.0 version. There was no nagging asking me to register.

Did you know MobileRead is listed as one of the Most Popular on their eNewsstand?

I must say it's a pretty good application. I had it set up in no time.

Wow, I am very happy with this download. I've always had a hard time getting PDF ebooks to be readable on a PDA. Working with Adobe Acrobat 2.0 all the way to trying to convert them to LITs by exporting them.

One simple, and quick, drag and drop to the MobiReader converted it and although the formatting was a little off and some illustration were removed... the document was light-weight, scalable, and easy to send to any of my devices.

Thanks.

This is interesting, I didn't know that MobiReader can convert PDF files! This sounds exciting.
