I was doing pretty good on 100 books until . . .
First half of the year I was doing great on the 100 book challenge (I did 20000 pages). I have been sitting at home after have some foot surgery, and you would think I was really progressing, as I can't go out or exercise.
Well, no. First there was Bejeweled. Then I decided to start over for Plants vs. Zombies. And both Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons have come out with new levels. It might be time to put the Samsung Tab on ebay! What is keeping you from accomplishing your goal of reading? |

LOL! Oh man, those games are such free-time black holes. So much fun, but oftentimes, I have no idea where the (jewel-exploding, bird-flinging) time has gone.
Aside from school, the weather has been keeping me from reading. Trying to take advantage of as much non-winter, outdoor running time as I can get. |

Dan Simmons' Hyperion.
It's a great book, but it's taking me forever to read! The games aren't helping much either though :P |

The fact that it's 100 books is stopping me. Reading like a demon might get me to about sixty books, but I'll probably end up around 32. I've got some studying to do for TOGAF certification which will kill a good month too.

Alas, all the books I've read were just mindless reading (mostly trashy romances). If I had to stick to reading specific titles, I probably wouldn't read as much. Oh well, now that I'm not in school, I find no reason to force myself to read books I don't particularly like. |

I'm doing pretty well on my 100 books challenge, I'm currently at 93 for the year. I agree the games are just time-eaters. I like to play them too, but I just make myself quit. I also rarely watch TV any more. Reading is my main form of entertainment.

I hadn't checked my count in a while - I'm at 101! Yea! I made it. Now I can stop reading for the year, or maybe stop buying Where was that other thread......?

I'm at 95 books so I'm doing well at reading.
What I suck at is keeping track of how many books I've read and updating my post here. |

I love Plants vs Zombies but don't even get me started on Zombieville USA!
I'm pretty proud of my 100 books attempt. I just finished #91 "Monster Hunter Alpha": Larry Correia. Of course being seriously "underemployed" for the first half of the year really moved things along <sigh>. |

My preggo lady-wife has been keeping me from sitting still and reading. And, I imagine that once baby "Hot-Dog" is here (That's the name our 4-year-old insists we name him), I'll probably read even less.

Having to work 7 hours per day 5 times a week really keeps me away from my reading i'd rather spend time with my Kobo, why didn't I marry a millionnaire
