Only the USA model, which can only be shipped to a USA address comes with a wall plug. If you want amazon to ship the kindle to India you need to order from the International page and select India in the drop down list. And if you want a wall plug, you need to buy the one for the sockets in India. I think they are the two thick straight pins?

thank you very much for the reply.

the Us version ships with the Power adapter

goto the page http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002FQJT3Q
and search in the page (using your browsers search functionality) for
"Included in the box"

but the one that ships Internationally does not have a power adapter
so if you have someone in US who can carry it with them then order the first one or else order the second one and order for the usb adapter also which costs 19$

Is there any other difference besides the plug when you buy an International Kindle?

I've bought two Kindles, both from the USA. They both came with a US plug. But you can use it just about anywhere. All you need is an adpater, which are easily available.

But that was a while ago. Things might have changed.

Of course, you can also charge the Kindle from the USB connection, assuming you have a computer.

You may get a B006 Kindle 3 3G+WiFi which has an AT&T SIM or the B00A Kindle 3 3G+WiFi which has a Vodafone SIM. Amazon give you whatever is most appropriate for the country it is shipping the Kindle to. Apart from the different SIM, the two units are the same in terms of hardware and software.

International orders from Amazon.com don't appear to get the bundled mains charger. You just get the standard USB cable and Kindle. Any good quality USB mains charger which gives you 5V at 500mA+ should charge the Kindle.
