Can EPUB play music files?

I've got a Sony PRS-T1. I'd like to be able to invoke playing of music files during a marked-up section of the HTML.

Does anyone know if EPUB can do that? And if so, how?

T1 can play JPEG music that you copy to the reader from your computer. No speaker must use earphones. I created new folder music for JPEGs but don't have to do this. After T1 is disconnected from computer T1 will find JPEGs you added and place in it's music library. Problem is listening to music drains battery faster. N external volume control so it is many steps to adjust volume, skip songs, and stop playing music.

I do not think it will play music from web site or from epub as you asked and if it did it would still have all of it's clunky interface problems.

The short answer is no.... the T1 will not play embedded sound files only stand-alone ones and as far as I can tell the built-in browser will ignore them on a web page but I haven't done a lot of checking on that... I do know that playing sound files will eat your battery.. if you are into audio books get a device made for that.. like a cheap ipod or the like.. the T1 is a book reader....
