asking for initial info

Hello everyone,

I am a new user of ebook readers. Soon I will get Onyx M90 and I have already BeBook (old edition) and PocketBook 903.

I am really looking forward to learning how to develop apps for these devices. I think these devices have a lot of unexplored potential in such areas as stylus interaction, document editing, network apps, or p2p apps. I have some experience programming in C, C++, Objective-C, Java, Python, and have done some mobile apps in Java but it seems that for Onyx and for PocketBook one needs to develop strictly in C. Is that true? (Can we use C++ too?) My preferred OS for development is Linux, is that a problem or a plus? Where do I start developing apps for PB 903, where do I get documentation or examples? Any information and pointers to information will be appreciated!

Hi mor,

quite simple:

1) Download and unpack the new official SDK under LINUX.
2) follow instructions to get one of the official demo apps to be build.
3) Learn the API "innkview" (header inview.h") by analyzing / modifying the demo apps.

4) write your first own app.
5) publish them here for free

I'm looking forward to your new apps!

Knowing Linux is an advantage, but not a too big one.
Knowing "C" is very necessary. But you can use "C++" as well (and it seems a good thing to use it - to my mind).
