Current firmware?

My reader finally arrived, huzzah! huzzah!

It activated fine and gave me all the credits, all of which are now gone. Interestingly, I wasn't prompted to download a firmware upgrade. The information from the settings tells me that the firmware version is 1.0.02.01300

Is this the latest one; the one that's giving people so much grief with the battery meter?

WELCOME - Yes, you have the current version....

The current version is 1.0.02.01300.

When you go to Connect, the program checks to see what version you have. When an older version is there, you'll get a screen. You didn't get a screen because your Reader is apparently a newer one with the current software already loaded.

Also: You can always check to see. Go to Connect. Click on "Help," and then click on "Check for Updates."

Additionally, you can see what version you have on your Reader by doing this: Select "Settings," and then select "About."

Concerning the battery issue, this is what I do, and I've NEVER had a problem with the battery: Turn it on and plug in the AC cable to the wall. Turn it off and then turn it back on. There may be a different procedure but, as I indicated, I've never had a problem with the meter.

Also, I don't know how "new" you are to this Forum [as I write this], but welcome. Also, visit the "Upload" section for a huge variety of material to read.

Don

I figured it was the latest one. I'm just happily surprised that it's already shipping in new units.

Basically, flash it while it's plugged in is what you're telling me

Thanks, but I've been about for a while now As for content, between the stuff I've accumulated on my HD, the Baen Bar, bittorrent and usenet, I'll not be wanting

No, we're talking about charging it, not re-flashing the ROM. Charge it with the Reader switched on; that way the battery meter will read correctly. Alternatively, charge with the Reader switched off then, when it's fully charged (ie when the light above the power switch goes out) turn the Reader on, and disconnect and briefly reconnect the charger.

Bad choice of words on my part. I meant flash as in "turning it on and off", not using the universal flasher scripts. My bad.
