Touched by Magic by Compton Crook Award-winning author Doranna Durgin (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is the 1st in her Magic Rising aka King's Wolf Saga duology of epic high adventure quest fantasy, this installment setting up the return of magic to a land where it's previously atrophied but is making a potentially evil comeback, which the obligatory one man recognizes and takes it upon himself to stop, free courtesy of author herself, who is e-printing it from its 1996 Baen edition.

This has previously been offered free several years ago, but the author's been very generous with the freebies and the discounts, so it's nice that this is being offered again for those who missed it earlier.
