Boox Go color 7 and Koreader issue - Black screen resuming from sleep mode

Hi, I'm facing a weird problem. When I read on koreader on Boox go color 7, if it goes to sleep mode when I turn it back on, it will show a black screen.
Koreader is still there, it doesn't crash, but a black screen will show.

Manual refresh does not work. The only solution is to rotate the screen and use rotate botton that pops up in Koreader, and that takes you out of the book and you have to open the book again.

or another solution is to close the app entirely and restarting it. This is annoying and it happens every single time.

I have found one other user having the same problem on github and where another user was confirming the same.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Have you tried having it go to sleep with another app and whether it returns correctly?

I'm guessing that you have?

Yeah, all the other apps work as they should be with the sleep functions. Including some other third party readers.

Onyx has a very screwed-up sleep/daydream/sleep screen.

When it sleeps does it have some stupid text at the bottom "To wake hit the power button"?

There are two different mechanisms for sleep screen and they sometimes fight. This is at least on my Go6.

Actually I set up the Koreader screensaver. Now every time it goes to sleep, it will show the cover of whatever book that was last opened on Koreader.
And no slide or push button message at all.
