I had to look up Gwen Moffat (the name was vaguely familiar) and I am glad I did. Quite a person. Ran into this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eq_e4q_JRw

Hope it is ok to have added this. Her books are on Kindle Unlimited too.

The Berkeley Square Affair has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US (coupon/VIPable). Links below are still good. Two of the other titles in this original post have also dropped recently to $0.99, and their links are still good too. Those two bounce up and down a lot in price, but Affair hasn't been lower than $3.99 in the time that eReaderIQ has tracked it...

Again at £0.99 at Kindle UK. Link below is still good.

As an update, per SYKM, it looks as if there is now also one earlier title, The Ice Queen, translated into English, but it's $9.99 at Kindle US, so I won't be buying for a while

The Archy McNally Series Volume Two: McNally's Caper, McNally's Trial, McNally's Puzzle, by Lawrence Sanders, is currently on sale at Amazon for $3.99. The publisher is Open Road, so this sale could be very brief -- perhaps just for today. Oddly, despite the very good sale price this package was not mentioned in the Open Road sale email I got today. I've read the first two books in the Archy McNally series -- and I'm currently reading the third -- so this was good timing for me.

From the description:

In his long-running, New York Times–bestselling mystery series set in South Florida, Edgar Award–winning author Lawrence Sanders gave readers “his most delightful character”—a charming playboy turned Palm Beach PI by the name of Archy McNally (Chicago Tribune).

The Threepersons Hunt by Brian Garfield is $1.99 at Amazon US.

SYKM says this is the second book about Sam Watchman, a Navajo state trooper in Arizona. The first book, Relentless, is currently full price (it's Open Road though. It'll be on sale). Don't believe it matters if they are read in order.

Quote:
A Navajo trooper tracks a murderous fugitive loose on the reservation

Joe Threepersons is a killer, but that doesn’t bother most of the people on the Apache reservation. After all, killing a white man is not an unforgiveable crime. Sam Watchman, on the other hand, is paid to care. Though a proud Navajo, he’s also a state trooper, so tracking killers is his business. The sheriff sent him because of his familiarity with the reservation, but no man knows this territory like Threepersons. The killer has a rifle, a stolen horse, and thousands of friends willing to give him sanctuary. As Watchman gives chase, Threepersons eludes him at every turn. But the trooper will get his man. After all, the murderer has only two million acres in which to hide.

On Her Majesty's Frightfully Secret Service is the 11th in the frightfully cute, but really fun IMO, Lady Georgie series by Rhys Bowen. I really enjoy this series. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N023LH3
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/on-...secret-service

ADD: also reduced to £1.49 at Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N023LH3

Spoiler:
Quote:
Lady Georgiana Rannoch juggles secret missions from the Queen, her beau, and her mother in this mystery in the Royal Spyness series.

When royal sleuth Georgie Rannoch receives a letter from her dearest friend Belinda, who's in an Italian villa awaiting the birth of her illegitimate baby, she yearns to run to her side. If only she could find a way to get there! But then opportunity presents itself in a most unexpected way—her cousin the queen asks her to attend a house party in the Italian Lake Country. The Prince of Wales and the dreadful Mrs. Simpson have been invited, and Her Majesty is anxious to thwart a possible secret wedding.

What luck! A chance to see Belinda, even if it is under the guise of stopping unwanted nuptials. Only that's as far as Georgie's fortune takes her. She soon discovers that she attended finishing school with the hostess of the party—and the hatred they had for each other then has barely dimmed. Plus, she needs to hide Belinda's delicate condition from the other guests. And her dashing beau, Darcy's (naturally) working undercover on a dangerous mission. Then her actress mother shows up, with a not-so-little task to perform. With all this subterfuge, it seems something is bound to go horribly wrong—and Georgie will no doubt be left to pick up the pieces when it does.

Silent Night is the last title in Robert B. Parker's Spenser series that was at least partially written by Parker himself, although SYKM notes that it was completed by Helen Brann, who was, per the blurb, his long-time agent. It has dropped to £0.99 at Kindle UK.

Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00G8OBPLU

Spoiler:
Quote:
It's December in Boston, and Spenser is busy planning the menu for Christmas dinner when he's confronted in his office by a young boy named Slide. Homeless and alone, Slide has found refuge with an organization named Street Business, which gives shelter and seeks job opportunities for the homeless and lost. Slide's mentor, Jackie Alvarez, is being threatened, and Street Business is in danger of losing its tenuous foothold in the community, turning Slide and many others like him back on the street. But it's not a simple case of intimidation - Spenser, aided by Hawk, finds a trail that leads to a dangerous drug kingpin, whose hold on the at-risk community Street Business serves threatens not just the boys' safety and security, but their lives as well. Unfinished at the time of his death, Silent Night was completed by Parker's longtime agent, whose decades-long association with Parker's work gives her unique insight and perspective to his voice and storytelling style. Her contribution also speaks volumes about their enduring friendship.

Jane and the Canterbury Tale is the 11th in Stephanie Barron's historical mystery series featuring Jane Austen as the protagonist. I read and enjoyed the first few titles in this series way back in DTB, but sort of lost track of the series when I moved to ebooks. Canterbury has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle US as part of today's Daily Deal, matched at Kobo US.

Quote:
Three years after news of her scandalous husband’s death, Adelaide Fiske is at the altar again, her groom a soldier on the Marquis of Wellington’s staff. The prospects seem bright for one of the most notorious women in Kent—until Jane Austen discovers a corpse on the ancient Pilgrim’s Way that runs through her brother Edward’s estate. As First Magistrate for Canterbury, Edward is forced to investigate, with Jane as his reluctant assistant. But she rises to the challenge and leaves no stone unturned, discovering mysteries deeper than she could have anticipated. It seems that Adelaide’s previous husband has returned for the new couple’s nuptials—only this time, genuinely, profoundly dead. But when a second corpse appears beside the ancient Pilgrim’s Way, Jane has no choice but to confront a murderer, lest the next corpse be her own.

Murder in Abbot's Folly is the eighth in the Marsh and Daughter series by Amy Myers. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US (coupon/VIPable).

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007BEFPT4

Quote:
In a crumbling Georgian mansion, the secret letters of Jane Austen provide a clue to a modern-day double murder for this father and daughter detective team.

Peter and Georgia Marsh, father and daughter investigators who specialize in cold cases, are looking forward to a Jane Austen–themed summer gala at Stourdens. It’s said that the eighteenth-century manor house was the author’s inspiration for her unfinished novel, The Watsons. It’s here that a collection of Austen’s never-published letters, pertaining to a mysterious love affair, are locked away. And most intriguing to Peter and Georgia, Stourdens is also the site of an unsolved murder, cold for nearly three decades.

As tourists and literary groupies descend on the property, tensions begin to stir among the mansion’s volatile family. And when another murder occurs on the grounds, the Marshes are compelled to investigate. That means unearthing secrets both past and present—secrets that someone is willing to kill to protect. Especially pertinent to the case are those secret sentiments of a young woman whose heart was broken more than a hundred years ago.

Murder Makes Mistakes
The many admirers of Sergeant Cromwell, faithful assistant and friend to Superintendent Littlejohn, are dismayed to learn that as he attended his uncle’s funeral in the pretty Cheshire village of Rushton Inferior, he was shot through the head. Unsure whether this was an accident or attempted murder, Littlejohn casts all other tasks aside and hurries north to investigate . . .

Buried for Pleasure
In the sleepy village of Sanford Angelorum, professor and amateur detective Gervase Fen is taking a break from his books to run for parliament. The village he’s come to canvass appears perfectly peaceful, but Fen soon discovers that someone in the village has discovered a dark secret and is using it for blackmail. Anyone who comes close to uncovering the blackmailer’s identity is swiftly dispatched. As the joys of politics wear off, Fen sets his mind to the mystery but is caught up in a tangled tale of eccentric psychiatrists, escaped lunatics, beautiful women, and lost heirs . . .
