People on Reddit have been pointing out, that this listing is 100% identical to the current PW5 Signature model. It even has reviews dating back to June (2024) and a Q&A dating back to May.

So the "2024" in the title of this listing just seems to be an error.

I’m hoping for a new Scribe. I can’t imagine going any smaller now as I already have a 6” kindle for my handbag and a PW for bed. The Scribe is my main e-reader now.

What I would really like is a return to earlier operating system simplicity, at least in terms of book organization and lists. I just got a new Kindle 2022 and there doesn't appear to be a way to show only the books that are loaded on the device. At least not with the Kid's Mode turned on. It's been very frustrating for both of us.

You need to set the filter to Downloaded.

But I had not played with Kids mode for awhile. There are no filter or sort options, just cover thumbnails. It looks like there are only two sections: RECENT and ADDED FOR YOU. Downloaded books seem to have a percentage (or show NEW). Once a download is removed, those indicators go away. So that appears to be how you tell if something is downloaded.

Yes indeed, in my excitement I unfortunately jumped too fast to the conclusion that that other “Nuevo Kindle 2024” was likely the other new device I edited my post now to hopefully avoid further confusion!

The limited stock on the Kindle Scribe inspires me to out on a limb and predict a color Scribe. Of course, I'd rather see an Oasis of some kind.

I have played with a PaperWhite a little bit and can't help wanting to adjust my grip, flip the case around, etc. I really prefer the Oasis in a case with those beautiful buttons. I can turn it as my hands tire and distribute the fatigue.

I agree, in my opinion the Oasis has the best design of all for holding in one hand. I got a Kobo Libra Colour which has a similar form factor with buttons on the side, but the lopsided design of the Oasis makes it much more comfortable to hold as the center of mass falls close to the hand; I always feel like my Libra is “pulling” on the side where I’m not holding it and must often use my other hand to hold it comfortably.

It’s really a shame that Amazon has discontinued it; I guess it was just too costly to make compared to the Paperwhite. Although I’m not in the market for yet another 7” device, I’d still be very happy if this other 2024 mystery device turns out to be an updated Oasis.

I quite like the design of the Kobo Aura H2O and Amazon Kindle PW5. They are basically the same design. Nice slim side bezels and no buttons. I love it.
