Glowlight 3 Battery Replacement

I'm happy to report that I was able to replace the battery on my Glowlight 3, the one with the old firmware (still has the hyphenation feature and better sized fonts). It took about ten minutes (hardest part was carefully prying the old battery loose). I did manage to crack the the shell around the USB port but it's still intact. If I do this again, I'll remove the shell from the bottom last, which should have been obvious. (Live and learn.)

The battery I bought (on Amazon) was the Cameron Sino CS-BNR520SL (so, apparently, it's custom built (or packaged) for the "BNRV520" Nook Glowlight 3). It was half charged when I got it, but the Nook is now off and being charged for several hours before use. Ordered on April 16th and received it today, so exactly two weeks from China. (Hopefully the tariffs won't mess this up.)

Congrats rcentros! I've always had trouble with the tape holding down batteries too. Of the three I've changed (NST, K3, Voyage) the Voyage battery gave me the most trouble and the only time I've worried I might break open a battery pack. It finally came off deformed and no longer flat but no fire and I didn't crack the screen. Oh that sense of accomplishment though Here's to many more years with the great Glow3 🍾

Thanks! I found out that those battery packs are tougher than they seem. Either that or I've been extremely lucky. I figure the Glowlight 3 is one of my (too many) eReaders that I'll keep. I hope these batteries will still be available in a few more years. (I may not be "available" in a few more years, though.)
