Hello,
The title has the tldr version of my situation. I used WinterBreak to jailbreak, applied the hotfix, installed mrpi, installed Update_KUALBooklet_c6ac782_install.bin, ran ;log mrpi, but get the white screen. I see the KUAL FAQ says I could get a white screen and to use coplate's version, which I did.

Is a reset of the PW in order or does someone know another way to resolve this?

I just downgraded my KT11 (serial number starting with G092) to 5.16.2.1.1 for armel instead of armhf. When I try to install linkss via MRPI I get "Really failed to remount rootfs RO A reboot is recommended". After a reboot and a reinstall I get the same error and the linkss folder is not created on /mnt/us afterwards. Any assistance would be appreciated.

IIRC there were report made by other people about DevCerts / MKK getting cleared on unregistered older Kindle models when device gets online and registering fixed that problem.

Hi there I'm a newbie to Kindles (never had one til given an old DXG) but knew they ran on Linux. Been jailbreaking then installing Launchpad and Kual by following this. But on trying to open Kual get the "The title is not signed by a registered developer" error.
Like others I'm dropping the .dxg file into root and updating the Kindle DXG and sadly still getting the same message. Any advice gratefully received!

For some reason, the latest KUAL version and/or the keystore update are broken on DXG (and on the other 2nd-gen Kindles).

The previous version of KUAL stopped working because the old keystore expired. You can get around that just by having your Kindle's clock set to a date before it expired.

The old keystore is included in the MKK installer. You should install just that and not the DevCerts update.

Hi Spartan-Heavy, sorry for radio silence... looking at kindle-mkk-20141129-r18833.tar it only has a directory called Dev Certs - can you please point me to the MKK installer keystore you mean ...

btw. I installed the update_setdate_B009_dxg.bin via root on the kindle - that's a mistake, no, given what you say above about making sure the clock isn't up to date (screenshots of current dxg file creation/modificaiton dates), but again not so sure how to set the clock without connecting to wifi...

I meant the .bin file. Update_mkk-20141129-dxg-B009_install.bin

Copy it to your Kindle and use the "update your kindle" option. That installs the old keystore on your Kindle.

That file should have set your Kindle's clock to July 2024, which is before the keystore expired.

You can check the clock by entering @time in the search bar on the Kindle.
