For Android I use the "no lock" app occasionally, when I don't want to do the pattern swipe to unlock the phone. There are, of course, security issues and I only use it when I listen to music or audio books and plan to use the screen often. Also great for the constant use of the calculator app (and preserving battery life). The new facial recognition feature as implemented in JB seems the best solution, though.
