Are you buying from Kobo now at least?
People have been predicting the demise of B&N for many years, but somehow they manage to hang on. Like I said, so far I only have 3 books that I cannot liberate. I got them on sale, so not a big deal.

I am buying from Kobo now. I have not been terribly unhappy with my Kindles, but Amazon apparently has abandoned page turn buttons, so I am done with them. I currently have 4 working ereaders so I am not in the market, but I am pretty sure my next reader will be a Kobo.

Ironically, the main reason I tried B&N was because of Amazon's DRM shenanigans.

I'd sooner go with Kobo or eBooks.com.

Yeah, Kobo is usually my first choice. Sometimes I buy directly from the author if they have an option.

I should check if the B&N app I have on my Windows 10 system still works to download. If it does, I would expect to be able to remove the DRM.

Nice to hear from someone who actually tried the download and remove DRM rather than speculating.

Your comment made me curious so I got out my old Windows 10 computer. It has a broken hinge and a cracked screen but still works. I opened the Nook app and downloaded the 3 books that didn't dedrm properly on my Win 11 computer. I brought them into Calibre and they are just fine.

So apparently there is something different about the setup I have on my Windows 11 computer, but I have no idea what it is.

I also have the Nook App on a windows 11 computer and I have no problems with removing the drm. I am using Calibre version 6.1.
