ERROR: Update Check Failed: Unable to reach the plugin index page

FYI, when in calibre - Preferences - Plugins - Get New Plugins I receive the following certificate verify failed error. Is this something unique to my current setup? I have no problem reaching the plugin index page via the browser.

Code:
calibre, version 3.26.1
ERROR: Update Check Failed: Unable to reach the plugin index page.

Works for me. The plugin index site uses a private https certificate that is bundled with calibre. If it is failing it usually means you have some system software/malware that is proxying your https connections, and serving up its own certificates for all https connections. Because calibre checks against its bundled certificate, instead of the system certificate store (which wil havebeen modified by the proxy software), the check is failing.

If you haven't installed any new security software recently, it is likely malware.

I suspect your A/V has firewalled secondary processes

Thanks. It works for me here at work too. I suspect it is self inflicted, I'll correct it when I get home.
