Question Multiple dictionaries

Hi, can anyone give me guidance about ebook software using multiple dictionaries? (multiple languages, including translation).

I must be using the wrong search language because google doesn't find much. I haven't found much searching through old mobilereads posts either. I know about this https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Dictionary but it's not sufficiently in-depth.

I'm looking for other people's experience, user manuals, etc. -- I.e. "enough" information so that I can choose (new) ereader software. I have an android tablet and an iphone.

Here is a related post (from me)
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=288165

TIA.

If you have the Kindle app on either of those, you can dowload additional dictionaries from Amazon. Also, if you are 'connected', you can access a higher layer (more data) from the basic lookup

In the IOS reader apps Mapleread and Marvin 3 it is possible to specify several URL Schemes. That means you can select a word and then tap a user defined menu bar and thereby activate an app or a webpage that will for example translate your word.

A few examples:
wordweb://{text}
or
dictbox://{text}

The word you tap will be placed instead of {text}

wordweb is an excellent English ->English dictionary.
dictbox is a also a dictionary, but I don't use it.

I subscribe to a Danish service ordbogen.com that is an online translation dictionary.

If you look up the word horse then the address line in the browser looks like this:
https://www.ordbogen.com/opslag.php?word=horse&dict=auto[/url]

You can now specify an URL Scheme like this in Maplereader or Marvin:
https://www.ordbogen.com/opslag.php?word={text}&dict=auto

Ordbogen

Also has an IOS app, that can be reached using the IOS share facility.

A final example:The URL scheme comgooglemaps://?q={text}
Will activate googlemaps and show the location that you tapped.
