Hooking Nook to Calibre - No can do

I NEED HELP
I can not get my Nook to Hook up to Calibre.
I bring up Calibre
I have added a couple of Word Files from my PC
I highlight one and click on the
convert Books tab
and I get
"could not convert 1 of 1 books
because no suitable source format
was found".

DOC is not a supported format.
Save your Word files as RTF or 'Filtered HTML'.
Those will convert

I was able to convert the RFT File
but I CAN NOT GET IT ON THE NOOK.
How do I do get the converted book to the Nook?

Can you see your Nook in My computer? (get that working first).

Once Calibre shows you device next to the Library Icon (default toolbar location), you shouls be able to select book(s) and click "send to Device"
Note: Calibre supports Factory Standard devices.

Non-standard (eg. rooted) you will probably need to use 'Save to disk' (choose the right one

)
