iPad in Denmark

I don't know if there is a problem getting iPads in Denmark, or what they cost, but I received a mail from my office supplies company - Lomax - today with some "offers", which I thought I would pass on in case it is of interest to someone. Here's the link to the site.

Just bought an iPad from Gravis.de. Shipping took 8 days, and paid 4600,- for the 16GB 3G model with shipping..

Those are pretty steep prices compared to the US.

here in rip-off county (Germany) 1 US Dollar equals 1 Euro

Its not fair, but thats the way it is.

At least we get things much later than in the US. That compensates for the disadvantage above ... errr

Sorry for my sarcasm, but just read today that Mr. Jobs net worth is approx. 6.1 billion dollars. No wonder

Well, you have to remember that US prices doesn't include local VAT. But yes, they are a bit higher overseas.

Also the exchange rate is not static. The prices at Apple Germany (and other companies who follow the same schema) are

And shipping does not count. The iPad is produced in China, so it needs to be shipped anyway

The site linked in the OP listed the 16GB WiFi iPad for the equivalent of ~750 USD. It sells in the US for 500 USD or ~2800 DKK. That's a substantial mark up.

the price for the 16GB wifi in Germany is 499 Euros. That includes 19% VAT.

So the real price is about 420 Euros

With todays exchange rate this is about $550

Its worse for the more expensive ones.

Also its worse for all of their products that came out recently.

Enough rant from my side ...

Yes, but the price mentioned are from a dealer who parallel imported the ipads, hence an increase in price.
