Has anyone read these? I know they're considered literature now, but I wasn't able to get into them when I tried in college. (I might be more patient now.) How do they hold up today?

I can’t answer this, but I can’t resist commenting that I slogged through several of Nin’s diaries in my salad days until I had my “the empress has no clothes” moment. I’ve not been tempted to go back to her, fiction or non (and the diaries were highly fabricated at that).

I enjoyed it (and I'm a big fan of Henry Miller, as well) - they were lovers and friends at one time. Her erotica is very poetic and dreamy (in my opinion), as are her writings in general.

Before her erotica, I had read Ladders to Fire, A Spy in the House of Love, and Collages.

This is a personal favourite which I'm re-reading right now. Definitely has that feel good factor.
