metadata: switching author/ title automatically ?

Hello.
I noticed that by far the most frequent correction I have to make in e-books' metadata, and it must be done book by book and not by batch, which makes it VERY time-consuming, is the interversion of author and title - and I wonder why so and so many books have this error in the first place, but there we are.
Does anyone know of a way to "automatize" this boring process with just one command once the "metadata" page is opened, instead of having to copy-paste from field to field EVERY bloody time ?

Batch mode does exist for SELECTED entries.
It called Bulk Mode Metadata Edit and there is a tick box to SWAP Author Title.
Simply select all the entries (books) you want to do that operation on: Tap 'E' for Metadata edit. It will be in bulk mode,

As to Why? 2 possible causes: 1) you are NOT using the Adding Books option: read from metadata instead of file name. 1b )The template is in the wrong order... but you said some so that is not a 100% fixable. 2)The book has dodgy metadata.

Quality check Plugin. It can help find all sorts of metadata issues (and FIX a couple the Bulk MDE can't do).

As well as the batch edit methods suggested by theducks, you can also do it on individual books with a single click or a single keystroke rather than copy/paste. The symbol to click appears at the top left of the edit metadata dialog box, next to the title. On a Mac, the keystroke is option + down-arrow.
