Question about library collections - Page 2

Bummer about the NYPL. I've updated the wiki with the new information that they no longer take $ for out of staters.

I really wasn't that impressed with the collection at NYPL. I was more impressed when I looked at the Clevenet site. I wish they'd offer an option for non-residents. My boyfriend wants to go to LA in October, at which time I will get a library card from those libraries.

I hope this isn't true. I got my non-resident library card from NYPL a few months ago. If this is true, maybe I won't be able to renew?

According to statements from NYPL employees, you will not be able to renew.

My NYPL card will expire sometime in August. Oh well, I enjoyed it for a year. And lately the local California libraries have gotten a lot better. I'd still renew at NYPL if I could though.
