Refurbished Kobos
I just got an email inviting me to buy a refurbished Kobo. I don't know how much the Aura 2 went for when it was new, but they are offering a refurbished H2O2 for 90% of what Paid for my brand new one 2.5 years ago. Not a very appealing offer, I think.

Moreover, you have no idea of the battery life. My old Aura One can't keep more than 5 days charge now.

That's true, but it's the perception I was thinking of, in marketing terms. If I were shopping for an ereader and went to Kobo's site and saw a "refurbished" H2O2 for the equivalent of $13US less than a brand new Libra, I would have to be very cash-strapped to pick the device that is not brand new, I think. |

They probably install a new battery as part of refurbishment.
Probably. Refurb Clara HDs were out of stock when I was shopping for mine. Sounds like I didn't miss anything. |

Newer doesn't always mean better. IIRC, the Aura H2O allowed you to sideload with a microSD card while the Libra apparently doesn't. I've got a large electronic library so I appreciate being able to expand with the microSD.
The problem I had with the Aura H2O was the display seemed fragile. I had 2 develop display issues, one admittedly from being dropped but the other hadn't been. If the device was truly refurbished then a new battery should be part of it. That leaves you with how much you like the features and specifications of the refurb H2O2 versus the Libra. |

The H2O2 doesn't have an SD card slot either. When I did have 2000 books on mine, I still had 5GB free, so didn't miss it |

I would consider a refurbished KA1 if there were assurances that the battery was new.
