Suspensions questions

I never been suspended, but with the recent rash of suspensions, I guess I have a couple of questions. All can be ignored.

Are suspensions a moderator group decision or can a single moderator make a suspension?

Do suspensions increase in length when a user is suspended more than once?

Is there a limit to the number of suspensions a single user receive until more drastic measures are taken?

All moderating decisions are made by the team. Other than that, I'm afraid we never publicly comment on moderating issues. If you have any questions, the best thing to do is drop a PM to the site owner, Alexander Turcic.

Thanks for the reply, Harry. It was just curiosity and hopefully I won't get to personally find out about the details.

How does one even know that there has been a "rash" of suspensions - is there a bad kids list somewhere?

Ok.. Rash may have been a bit over the top. I've noticed a couple regular posters (one who imploded last night/this morning) who are marked Suspended. And I got curious about the process. Just not curious enough to dig any deeper.

Suspended is better than banned.

I believe that a warning is usually sent out 1st so if someone 'accidentally' posts something considered inappropriate (or the post is misinterpreted) it need not get to the point of suspension. At least that's how I understand it. After all if you are warned about doing x and you do it again anyway then you have probably earned the suspension.

True enough DaleDe. I imagine there have been some who were banned and then tried to sneak back in with a new user name too.
