I just finished a non-fiction book proposal about red state - blue state animosity. One chapter is titled, Rupert Murdoch vs. George Soros: Celebrity Death Match!
I also finished an extremely violent book about a group of ex-military men who seek out and raid operations where animals are brutalized for entertainment. I think I'll send the first chapter to Clint Eastwood - he'd be perfect. Aside from launching the 4th book in a kids' fantasy series, finishing a class and waiting for school to start up for real, I'm hoping to get back to another kids' fantasy book I started this summer. Thanks for asking! |

Well, if they'd thrown the shaker, they could have been charged with a salt and buttery...

Nope, I only threw caution. Fortunately, I was upwind! (It flings better that way.)

A Story for my Mexican Friends
I did a book talk one day at a middle school in San Diego County. We gave away a bunch of stuff - the student body was mostly Mexican. The kids were pretty jazzed so I decided to write a book about how an author's visit turns into a life changing event for one particular student. It's turning out to be pretty cool.

Kate's Movie Star
Still working on "Kates's Movie Star."
"I'm an American," she responded bravely. "I'm a free person and I won't be anyone's possession. I'll never understand you barbaric beings." The alien leaned forward menacingly. Kate pressed back against the seat. "You are lucky that you are not on your way to the Moon. Do you understand that?" It's voice had changed. There was a dangerous quality to it that Kate had not detected until now. Maybe she was just imagining it. Whatever the reason, Kate swallowed and then nodded. "When you see my assistant again, you may thank her that you are still on this planet. Now get out of my office. Someone will be sent to escort you to your transportation." The Ragoon waved them away. The man lifted a hand. "Before I go, may I ask if I can get my car back soon?" The alien gave him a menacing look. "Are you speaking of the car that you were driving when you almost killed me and my assistant and this girl? At this moment, it is a large, what do you humans call it, paperweight that is sitting on a dock in Oakland, waiting to be shipped to China." "You crushed a Maserati?" asked the stunned man. "Into a very small block of metal," the alien responded with a touch of satisfaction in it's mechanical voice. |
