The New York Times fails

I've run it twice today, and it fails with "Aborted, taking too long."
It appears to stop at 30 minutes.

I have to manually restart NY Times almost every day. And most times 2 or 3 times a day. It gets hung up on one article or another and stops. If the articles weren't good, I would have abandoned this recipe ages ago.

In fact, this recipe is the only reason I keep asking for a restart button in the Jobs menu.

I believe that in another friend some smart people concluded the recipe hangs on large images. There is some way to tweak the recipe to avoid those images but I could not quite follow the instructions. Would be glad if some kind soul might post the steps, in language suitable for liberal arts majors for whom using Calibre is at the bleeding edge of their capabilities!

delete lines 150 - 155 in the recipe that will prevent loading of "lazy loaded" images.

hmm... images... well, the images are a good part of the articles, so restarting the job every day it is. Anybody besides Kovid knows how to code a Restart button? He's way too busy.

Apologies but how do I open the NYT (print) recipe so I can delete lines 150-155? And what would be the corresponding lines in the WSJ (print) recipe?

Thanks again. Can you advise which lines to delete in the WSJ (print) recipe?

Got it. For me WSJ "sticks" more frequently than NYT

"Restore your abort long jobs setting under Preferences->Miscellaneous"

Done. Is there any setting that amounts to 'Abort After X Minutes Then Retry'? I think that would solve 90% of the hang issue....
