For what it is worth I have had the same problem with the NYT feed. And since I am on a Mac (I can Boot Camp into windows - but it is a RPITA to do so) so having to use the Sony software is difficult. Particularly at 4:00 AM when I am trying to get ready to go for Dialysis. I was sort of looking forward to having the NYT and its front page.
"Oh Well!" as my daughter would say, "It sucks to be me." |

Not too worry I'm releasing 0.4.40 later today, since there's another annoying bug in 39

I plan to donate on this week to the project. Hint taken, and then some
![]() The NYTimes download also crashed my reader; how do I get around this? And when he says he's going back to the "old profile", does he mean going back to the old RSS grab-feed? |

Yup its back to the old RSS grab in version 0.4.40 (better to have a working not so nice profile rather than a broken nice one). You can work around it by using the connect software to transfer the LRF file to the reader.

I'll stick with the previous one and just transfer around. Thanks for the try though Kovid! |

NY Times Suggestion
Hello
Just a quick suggestion for the NY Times profile : with the new profile, don't include articles from the previous day. That should limit the LRF filesize. Maybe it's in my head, but currenctly libprs500 NY Times profile downloads a lot of article from the previous days. This could be handy if you don't read it every day, but if you do, that's useless duplication. Maybe both the new profile (for "daily reading" - every article of a given day) and the old profile (for "weekly reading" - articles from the RSS only) could be offered? Guylhem |

It's not the file size, something else is causing the crash. And the new profile doesn't download articles from the previous days, as a result it's actually smaller than the old profile.
