Just saw this if anyone was interested in pseudo element history:

As usual, you're wrong. According to the epub 2.0.1 specs:

Don’t try and move the goalposts when you are proven wrong.

Just reread the post and realize that we have said multiple times to test the coding on your target devices… if your ancient device doesn’t support it, you will need to provide fallback coding…
