Onyx Boox Note - minimal charge on swollen battery

Hi,
I think it started like 10 months ago. I noticed that note taking app start freezing during writing or saving. Usually reset or attaching charger helped. Sometime device froze during startup with ugly jagged images or horizontal/vertical lines threatening with damaged screen. Fortunately - it wasn't.
Lately (2-3 weeks ago) I noticed that case isn't closing completely. First I thought - it's bend so I can bend it in opposite direction.
And then came enlightenment - there's horizontal bump visible on screen and on back.
Battery had swollen, loosing it's capacity, so charger brought device from freeze.

Now, I ordered 2 batteries from different sellers on aliexpress which should fit to my device (2 so I could diversify incompatibilty). Delivery will take around 30 days. I hope it will help - as 17$ x 2 is acceptable fix attempt.
In my country I heard only about one company which COULD fix it, but I would expect price to be close to half price of new device.

I'm skeptic about aliexpress, quality and compatibility of advertised products. Do you believe it could regain new life?

That swollen battery is dangerous. You shouldn't mess with it, charge it, try to remove it, etc.

I thought swelling batteries were a thing of the past. But this is Onyx (eye roll).

Years ago I had a phone that had a swelling battery. I didn't figure out why it kept misbehaving until the screen literately bulged up.

It appears not so much: I just had the battery of my PocketBook swell up and completely break the the reader. I wasn't using it anymore due to battery problems, but still...

Hello, how did it go, did it already arrive? Which sellers did you buy from? I bought a battery for Note from HBSAT official shop and it already started to lose charge by itself. I received and installed it 4 months ago so not a very long time. Now it only maintains about 1 hour of usage after a full charge and freezes at about 50 percent.
