I go back and forth on whether or not it’s worth engaging here anymore, as the willful I misunderstanding/misattributions persist. So I’ll limit it to saying that what has offended here is not the quote itself, but that the word “offended” was used to described those who thought it a poor choice and the discussion/attack continued from there.
And, just saying, using the word “honey” to address those with whom you disagree, especially with its gender connotations in this discussion, is demeaning and patronizing. Whether deliberate or not, I can’t say. |
