Crashing problem (Bloatware? Memory?)

Hello,

A wooter here (sick of us yet?) that got my eDGe and updated to 2.2.

However, Apps crash often and hard. I am suspecting internal memory, but that is a guess. I am unsure the reason. It could be bloatware. I don't like deleting apps all whilly nilly. (or just deleting them all nilly. I will delete them all whilly)

So far, I like what I see if I could keep an app running.

My questions:

Does it have an internal memory problem? Solutions?

Anyone have a list of bloatware that is safe to delete?

Why are there so many songs about rainbows?

When crash happened get logcat and post it here.
Search my posts for "logcat" how to get one.

I have tried for a few days to make this work. Here are the instructions I am following.

Quote:
http://developer.android.com/index.html

First, download and install Android SDK.
Second, enable USB debug on your device.
Third, connect EP to your computer, go to Device Manager->Disk Drives->delete all Linux devices->hit Action->Scan. It should find new devices and install, among others, ADB interface.
Forth, without disconnecting, run app in question, e.g., Market.
Fifth, after it failed, open DOS box, navigate to where you installed SDK, android-sdk, platform-tools:
adb devices - you should see your device like 0123456789ABCDEF
adb logcat - it will write a lot of lines in DOS box, copy all of them to this thread or send me PM.
What is happening is that the edge is telling me that the android SDK does not work for my device.

Cover Bands, do any apps work for you? Do the pre-installed apps work?

Don't rainbows make you want to sing??

These instructions for Windows computer, not eDGe. You don't need to install anything on PE.

ptsenter - Ok, I am a moron. Will do this tonight and post.
Filark - Apps, pre-installed or post-installed, it matters not. Some work, some don't. I hope moving apps to my SD card works.

Hey, thanks for trying to help, but I don't understand those instructions. I have done everything it says, but dosbox? I was using that to play caslevania on my mac a few years ago. I don't have a clue on what I am supposed to do with it. I think I will just toss this off of a cliff and buy a kindle fire.

First up. What apps are crashing? Do they always crash? Are they apps you have added or are they apps that are in ermine?

To just say that apps are crashing does not give us much to go on to help you.

Since ermine is beta software and a modified android 2.2 at that, not all external apps will work. Also the PE is not a phone and so is missing some of the hardware that a phone has - this also stops apps loading because they think they need the hardware that isn't there.

Once we know a little more of what your problem is we may be able to help solve it.
