Even with some broken clouds, it is brilliantly bright out there! It has been cold enough that most of the snow that landed on the tree branches is still there. The sun is reflecting off everything and beaming in through the windows in all directions! Despite all that it's pretty chilly out there -- 34° F.
And we've got another storm on the way. Starting sometime tonight we're scheduled to get ice, then sleet, then rain. Lots of rain. So, I have no idea what it will look like tomorrow. |

It's pouring rain now - apparently the polar vortex & the jet stream have retreated north, so that your storm is just a rain event for us.
But another storm is arriving Saturday .... no predictions yet as to liquid or frozen ... |

While the rest of Europe seems to be freezing it's actually not bad here, haven't seen snow yet. A ton of rain this past week though.

I've lost track of the storms this year. This is really unusual to experience that much in so short a time frame. Actually, this is really unusual to experience that much, period.
Gale force winds are to be expected again in 48 hours, probably throughout the weekend. Well, at least it was sunny yesterday morning Take care all of you in snowy areas! |

Stay safe anyone in non-snowy but still too hot or stormy areas.

Ice. Lots of ice. It looks like a winter wonderland -- as long as you're looking through a window and your power hasn't gone off!

We were supposed to get a "coating" of snow tonight.
At three inches (and still coming down, lightly) I'd say it's a safe bet that everything is now coated. |

It's snowing! Fairly steady flurries now. Supposed to receive a 'wintry mix' every day through Thursday, with the worst on Wednesday night - snow/sleet/freezing rain.

Yes, it's snowing. Very lightly, though. I was out grocery shopping when it started and had to stop and call my wife to let her know. She loves snow.

We're supposed to have sun for Tuesday and Wednesday, and then more snow (or rain) from Wednesday night into Thursday. If it's snow, it could be 6 to 8 inches.
I'm really hoping for rain. |

Yeah, I'm getting ready for another snow storm Wednesday night going into Thursday. I hope I don't lose power this time as I heard the dreaded words - FREEZING RAIN! Last week I was without power for 4 days. Right now they are already saying 6 - 9 inches, which means by the time it gets here a foot at least.

Our forecast gets worse every time I look at it: first snow only, then snow & sleet, now they're adding 'significant' freezing rain accumulations ... on top of snow .... sigh .... will winter ever end?

Yep. Our "6 to 8 inches" have gone up to eleven, with ice now in the mix.
