Failed: Polish

Hi,

Polish is failing on every book I try it on. I updated Calibre and all plugins, but no luck.

I notice that the error log mentions win32, although I downloaded and installed the 64-bit version, and I am running the 64 bit version on Win 10.

None of the books I have tried has a kepub version, but I do have the kepub plugins installed.

Any ideas?

Start calibre from a commadn prompy with

calibre.exe --ignore-plugins

and see if it helps.

hmm, I did as you suggested Kovid, and I was able to polish a book. But then I tried 1 where I had changed the cover, and it failed again.

The error log still mentions kepub plugins, so I removed them and tried again, but still no joy.

I'm going to try complete uninstall and reinstall, see if that works.

In that case attach one of these books that is failing even with --ignore-plugins

Thanks Kovid,

So after I reinstalled, it seemed like only books by one author had a problem. I deleted the epbub and azw3 formats, reconverted them from mobi, and after that, they polish ok.

If I find more that still won't polish, I'll come back.
