Management issues with large databases - Page 2

Noticed also the more books get imported in the db the slower newer books get imported. Last time i did it 6000 books took about 24 hours, now those same 6000 books are taking well over 48 hrs to get imported (only difference was caliber had already 10000 books while the first time it was empty). Any idea what could be causing this?

Well when you add a book calibre has to scan all existin books to see if it is a duplicate or not, so that will make a difference.
