B&N agrees: 1.6 update breaks micro-SD access
The unannounced 1.6 firmware update for the NOOK 1st Edition breaks access to any added micro-SD card, if that card is larger than 2GB.
B&N now acknowledges that here: http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/...63420#U1063420 |

Their page says "What's new in V1.6? NOOK ver1.6 includes minor system update.". |

Here's hoping they fix that quickly... meanwhile, I'm leaving WiFi off on my Nook. I do most of my content from a card and losing card access would leave me rather unhappy.

Why haven't they pulled this update? It sucks having to leave my nook in airplane mode because I don't want to mess up my micro sd card access. I understand that bugs happen, but why not put the update on hold until it is fixed?

They have always had problems with large numbers of files on the SD cards. I'm not surprised that they missed this as well. Note the fine print on other posts from this guy, no further updates. The original nook is officially obsolete.

Not that it matters, "this guy" is named Samantha.

Duly noted. I assumed "Sam" was male.

Did B&N stop pushing this update over wifi? I read that on the B&N boards, but I'm wondering if it is confirmed.
