I know this is not primarily what you asked for, but I think you should check out a series by Piers Anthony called the "Incarnations of Immortality."

How about the Damiano Trilogy by R. A. MacAvoy. Fantasy set in altered Renaissance Italy.

Angels and Ministers of Grace by Michelle O'Leary
You can borrow it for free if you are an Amazon Prime member. Although technically not about angels, it is still a good read. Last edited by Angst; 06-04-2012 at 01:36 PM. |

As does Neverwhere by Gaiman, a recent MR bookclub selection winner, though perhaps not featured in the way the OP is looking for, as it is a single Angel who is not featured throughout, though he does play a significant role.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but angels play a part in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. It may however offend if you are very devoutly Christian.

Highly recommend Angelology by Danielle Trusson. It's like you put Dan Brown and Umberto Eco books in a blender and hit puree. Great fast read

I've not started the series as yet, but J. R. Ward's Fallen Angel series is on my TBR list. The main characters are both angels and male. And although she is known for wrining paranormal romances, a few reviews seem to indicated that these are not really "romantic". The first book is Covet
