Is there a way to highlight the text in epub books in Calibre?

Left click at start of highlight. Drag highlight to end and release left button. Done.

Actually, this does not work!
As soon as, I highlight the second section, the first highlight is gone!

It's not the same thing, but there is a bookmark feature - but I don't know how to make their existence visible within the text itself
