Can pressing on the screen cause damage?

I just tried to place an antiglare protector on my new Nookcolor and now I'm in a tiny panic. I had to press down pretty hard to get all the air bubbles out. Everything seems okay, but I just thought I'd ask around. I'm a real noob with Nook (so please be gentle). I don't know if I could have hurt something or not.

It shouldn't be a problem. I have touched the side of mine and had some color distortion. Mine is working perfect. I think yours will be ok.

Should be fine as long as you don't press it too hard. I had a protective screen placed on my NC by one of the B&N rep at the store. You have to press a little hard to make those bubbles go away. I don't have any screen issues so far (in fact had dropped my NC once on my carpet and looks like a pretty sturdy piece of hardware)

Thanks for the reassurance. Sounds like it should be fine.

Just so you know when you replace your protector. You shouldn't have bubbles if you do it properly. Just start at top, hold the film at at least 90deg & sort of roll it down as you peel the backing off. The film should lay down smoothly as you go & if you see a void, back up a bit & continue. I have applied 3 B&N protectors with no voids.

Cheers,
kev
