Stylus not working after sleep; unwanted wakeup from sleep?

Hi there,

Got my new M92 upgraded to latest 1.7 FW (update-20120726.zip) and am using the new experimental PDF viewer.

This happens (twice today):

1) I read a PDF docuemnt.
2) I stop reading but leave the PDF document in the reader at the front (i.e. do not switch back to the main screen).
3) I press the power button and the "Reading the World" screen with the train and the lamppost shows.
4) I close the cover.
5) I come back an hour later and open the cover: now the home screen is shown with the clock and the recent documents etc.
6) The stylus/pen does is not recognised. The buttons on the frame of th M92 are.
7) To make the pen work again I have to restart the M92 twice.

Now my questions:

First I wondered why the pen was not recognised any more.

Now as I write all this I also wonder why the M92 switches to the home screen while I thought it was sleeping (between steps 3 and 5 above).

Has anyone had similar experiences? Did a bit of looking here but could not find anything.

Cheers,
Joerg

Hii Joerg,
I also got the Firmware 20120726 on my white M92, but all the time (by now) I didnt got problem with my pen.
I upgraded my M92 when it did arrive some weeks ago.
Did you update from an earlier Version (1.6?)
Between the 1.6 and the actual 1.7 there was a special version which formats my "partitions"....If they had been formated by your last update, then you could run into some problems..I think.

Another question is..did you install some additional software to your M92?
Something like the file-manager, ssh, genserial, fonts?

Did you take your pen 10-20cm away from your M92, so that the M92 screen could be recalibrated (to know the pen is away)?

And please try if the pen-problem persist, if you did use FBReader and not the PDF-Reader... got by myself some hangs with the pdf and coolreader, but for me the FBreader ist working fine

Hi there,

Got the M92 with some 1.6 version on it and upgraded straight to the latest 1.7.

I think no partitioning happened during the install as all books I had put on the 1.6 were still there after the update.

And, no, I have not installed any additional software. Just a about 200 books. A lot of .mobi files (that I had on my Kindle before) and number of .pdf files.

I will keep my eyes peeled for when this happens again and I will try to exactly note down the circumstances and the steps I take.

Apart from the above thing I have to say I really am quite pleased with the new (experimental) PDF reader software and the M92 altogether.

Cheers,
Joerg

Hi,

It seems like I've got exactly the same problem, and I'm still looking for a solution. I've got an Onyx Boox M92 reader, the firmware version is 1.7 20120514. I didn't change the firmware, nor did I install any custom software.
Sometimes when I put the device into the sleep mode it wakes up by itself and the pen stops working.

Hopefully someone around here on this forum could get this problem fixed.

Question

I asked Booxtor in the Msg
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=758
about a newer Firmware which formats the partition of the internal database.
Your firmware seems to be newer (1.7 20120514) as the format-firmware (update-20120309.zip) but I dont know if your database has the right format to work correctly.....

Question to Booxtor: Could it help to downgrade to update-20120309.zip and then update to the last firmware update-20120726.zip?
