Tag Schema Discussion
I'm hoping to get some better ideas regarding tag schema from your discussion and comments here. What tag schema do you like to use? As a calibre noob recently, it took me weeks to get acquainted with using tags.
Here's the tag schema I'm using now. Code:
Genre Abbreviation Key
(Font should be monospaced)
------------------------------------------------------
It's helpful to use abbreviated tags to be able to
see them all at once in calibre's Library View.
Performance is improved using fewer and
more applicable tags, rather than hundreds that
apply each only to a few books. It's good
to replace the original tags with better tags
just after adding books to a library.
Prefix sort in calibre is .a, (, [, noPrefix, zABC
Calibre doesn't like these {, |, ^, #
Excel doesn't like these +, -, =, /, *, ?
MetaTags Book categories or other info
-------- -----------------------------
(TR) To Read
[CU] Clean-Up of format is necessary
[OM] Omnibus, contains 2 or more books
[OMin] Omnibus has it, it's not an eBook in itself
[P] Physical book is owned, paperback or hc
[SS] Short Stories or story, single-author
[SSma] Short Stories, multi-author collection
(above sort after .genre 1st Level in LibView)
zABC Source of eBook (sorts to end in LibView)
