I've got to say, I read lots of books from Dan Brown and while they weren't phenomenal, they were okay. I was so disappointed with this book though. Every cliche possible was used, the whole "national security" angle was (IMHO) simply ridiculous and it was so obvious from the start who the nutball was supposed to be, but he deliberately wrote it in such a way as to avoid giving us clues. It's a trick used by amateurs, not professional authors. Sadly, it seem Brown peeked with the DaVinci Code, which while not phenomenal either, at least was well written enough to hold interest. This book was awful.
