Hello, everyone. I need help.
I am a senior citizen and just received a "used" Sony psr-500. It was given to me with only a USB connection and a "quick start guide." There was a CD envelope, but no CD. The giver was a deceased friend's son. Do I need a CD to get started? The son told me everthing has been taken off the reader, so I suspect I need the CONNECT reader discussed in the guide. Can someone tell me where I can get that?
I'm a mess, aren't I!!!!! |

Hi liferaft and welcome to MobileRead. I think you can download the software you need from the Sony site. You might try calling them or posting your question on the Sony forum here on MR

Hya, Liferaft. I'm no spring chicken either. But, if given a bike, you must learn how to ride it without falling off to get the best of the experience. It does take a little work (maybe the odd scraped knee) -- but you'll never regret it. Best wishes. Neil

Thank you, cassadym. I think I may have downloaded what I need. We'll see in a little bit. Thanks for the info.
Neilmar, I am always open for new experiences and gadgets. I'm going to master this, I promise! |

Hello,
Here is an update to the situation. I've downloaded from the "check for updates" section and it says that New Software is available for download. I accept the download and it goes to the PR-500 updater screen and the UPDATE button is grayed out however on the reader itself it says USB connected. Any ideas on what is causing this. The Sony site says to update the firmware you have to send it in to them, could this be a reason why I can't download and read EPUB files? Thank you everyone for all of your help. |
