America's Weight War: The Heavy Price
My fellow Americans,
I know that the Health Care crisis is foremost in all our minds and that we, as a unified nation, are willing to accept the crippling burden of unlimited tax increases in order to save the lives of those whose self control and better judgement are terminally impaired. I speak, naturally, of the obese. Fat folks. Yes, I hear your pain. Why must we, who cannot afford the luxury of overeating, pay? I don't know. But it is clearly our fault, so pay we will. Think of the price our President must pay as he bids farewell to a majority of his own Party, Oprah, Al Gore, and the First Lady's trunk junk. I am moved by his noble sacrifice. |

I would rather be obese than a liberal.

Sad but true story: one of our former employees was a salesman who weighed approximately 280 pounds. His wife was so obese she was actually declared totally disabled by the government and unable to work at all. They were proud of this achievement! Free money just for a lifetime of overeating!
An employee saw them at the local Golden Corral buffet - their mode of eating was so repulsive that a ring of empty tables developed around them. |

I'd rather pay out a few bucks in taxes to help obese people than to subsidize oil, coal, GM, AIG and ethanol production.

So you don't believe in personal responsibility for one's own actions? Why not treat the obese like smokers? Make them pay their own way? Not enough profit in that?

How much truth lies in the film Sicko? I saw it a couple of days ago and with the picture portraited in this film I can't say that I would like to get sick in the U.S. But take this as a reflection from someone who's looking in from the outside I have no personal experience with your health system.

"Sicko" is a propaganda film. Michael Moore is the modern day equivalent of Tokyo Rose.
We do have a Healh Care crisis. Costs are out of control. Real Americans have always paid their own way. Illegal aliens don't. Outright fraud, like that committed by "OctoMom", further drive up costs. The current Health Care Bill doesn't change that. It simply changes who real Americans must overpay. |

I think fat people help the economy grow. Someone has got to produce and sell them whoppers.

"Obesity: The New Growth Industry!"
Wow, that could work! McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Dress Barn, Hershey's, Breyers, the list of companies that benefit are endless! If we could harness the methane produced by obese people farts, we could end the energy crisis! |
