Text overlapping images in Nook, Aldiko - HELP!

Hello, I am encountering the text-over-images issue when my EPUBs are viewed on a Nook, or Nook for PC, or Aldiko on Android tablet. I have read the other related posts, but they do not help me with my issue or I am unable to fully understand the solution. This issue only occurs when an image appears at or near the bottom of a page. The image repeats on the next page, with the subsequent text over it.

Please, if possible, give specific instruction such as "delete this code, and add this code" or "use this conversion setting" rather than the more general "you need to dictate the size of your images" etc. I can fix HTML code and find my way around Calibre, but I am not completely fluent in Epub and Calibre conversions and lingo.

I typically save a Word DOC as HTML (filtered) then convert it in Calibre to EPUB. In addition to what I can do to fix existing EPUBs with this issue, is there anything I can do earlier in the process - in the original Word DOC, the Word HTML version, or in the Calibre conversion options - to prevent this in the future? Thank you for any help.

Two examples below. The second example also happens to overlap another image, but that is not the issue (I don't believe) - I guess I should say the problem image-at-hand repeats and is overlapped with the subsequent text and/or image. But typically, I just see the subsequent text overlapping the image.

Code example 1 - from EPUB file:

Code:
the camera will automatically capture images at the smaller DX size when a DX lens is being used.</p>

Note that the DX image size aligns approximately with the Viewfinder Grid Display lines which can be turned on with Custom Setting d2.</i></p>

  <p class="MsoNormal4">&nbsp;</p>

Code example 2 - from EPUB file:

Code:
You are going to want to take over control of these choices from the camera because these three settings just happen to do other things as well.</p>

Code example 2 - same as above but from HTML before converting in Calibre:
