It pains me to admit, but I am having trouble installing/using this. It seemed to install correctly via launchpad (Shift Shift I) - which unpacked the zip (version 8) in customupdates to usbroot (/mnt/us/), stating success.

Now, when I enter an open terminal sequence (Shift T T for example) this is consumed (not always, but most of the time) but otherwise nothing happens.

I was assuming a terminal would be opened and displayed. Did I make a false assumption or might there be an error on terminal execution? Are there logs anywhere for this?

PS: Tested version 6. with myts-./myts.arm: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./myts.arm)
8 the zip in customupdates is extracted to /mnt/us - this does not seem intended (myts-6 is packed to myts subfolder). When executing the included myts.arm (.8) via ssh I get:

./myts.arm: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./myts.arm)

...which seems like a linking problem as mentioned here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=148906

When doing the same with version 6, I get no such error and myts reads stdin. Have not yet found any change on kindle with this.

PPS: nvm - seems there was only one initializing step missing (closing usbnetwork, ssh access?) - works great now.

Conclusion: myts-6 works für kindle 3 keyboard, myts-8 should probably installed manually (not with launchpad) and might have a compatibility/deployable issue [until someone corrects me what I was doing wrong].

Have launchpad installed on Kindle 3W

At a loss as to where to install myt, since there is no /mnt/us/customupdates

I have only a launchpad folder at root.

Do I place the myt folder inside launchpad?

If you would like to have a cheat sheet for this terminal, I created one here.

Way back then, I wanted to list the help within Terminal (via Menu+Left<). I created an about.txt file with the following content:

Please excuse my necromancy, and in my first post no less! but this seems like the place.

Just installed the terminal on my Kindle Keyboard 3G (third generation)

Couple of questions:

Is there any way to enable caps lock?

Is there any way to force a complete display refresh as it looks a bit tired after some use?

Thanks..

Also, no idea if there's any interest but I've built Frotz (Z-Machine/Infocom interpreter), Brandy (BBC Basic V interpreter, hence the need for Caps Lock) and RunCPM (CP/M 2.2 emulator using standard directories for the drives) for this, though they're command line based apps, is there any point in making those available or should it be left to people to build things themselves...

So add them. The diagram shows what is to be found in the file.
You can find the information from the diagram which quotes the file presented earlier.

You are going to have trouble with that, see the content description of keydefs.ini ::
Quote:
;;; NAME is the symbolic name of the key, used in actions.
;;; Single-char names correspond to ascii chars and are case sensitive.
;;; other names are case insensitive.
(Hmm.... Which could have more than a single interpretation, but that is what is in the documentation.)
Caps, you have that, see left side of second block for the key combination.

Hi

Still not finding caps lock -.-

Looking as carefully as I can, all I see in the second block is that shift alone works as expected (though I notice shift+sym enables a symbol lock). This would usually be enough but brandy (BBC Basic V) expects caps lock to be on all the time (as did the original BBC Micro)

Did discover I can force an eink refresh by doing an echo 0 > /proc/eink_fb/update_display (top/bottom bars go until redrawn by OS or I exit terminal but no great loss there)

I'm aware of the keymap and keydefs.ini files, given insert seems to be likewise missing I'll likely see if I can make use of them for that.
