Is anyone working on a jailbreak for newer FW versions?

Hey there,

It is so sad to see that there is no new JB for newer FW versions.
I am not even connecting my KOA2 to wifi in the hope a JB will come soon.

In fact I haven't connected it a single time.

I am sure there are other people out there who are waiting for a JB.

Is anyone at all exploring the FW or boot loader for weaknesses?

Please define: "Newer firmware versions"
What firmware version number or numbers or number range do you have in mind?

(factory) 5.9.0.6 is the highest version for the KOA2.

The normal practice here is to not discuss future or potential future jail breaks or the version to which they might apply.
Not until one exists that is ready to be released for general use.

The reason:
Amazon/Lab126 follows the postings on this forum.
They have a fairly large staff of full time, professional, programmers.
Given even the slightest of hints about a possible jb vector or work in progress here, and they have the people/power to get it blocked before we can do anything about it.

So if you wish to develop a Kindle jail break, go right ahead, but do not discuss what you are doing in public.
Just surprise us when you get it ready for general release.

My KOA2 come with come with 5.9.2.0.1. Don't have WiFi setup. Will it updated using the build in 3G while I turn on? Only a minute or two apart when I checked the firmware version.
